December has arrived, and Watts Hall is bursting with holiday spirit! This month, we’re celebrating the season with events that bring joy, laughter, and a sense of togetherness for all ages. Whether you’re making new traditions or enjoying old favorites, there’s something magical waiting for you at Watts Hall. Let’s make this holiday season one to remember—right here in the heart of Thomaston!  

December 6th @ 7:30 pm - For their annual Christmas concert, the Down East Singers are partnering with Halcyon String Quartet to present Rachmaninoff and Lime City. This multi-media performance features Gustav Holst's "On this Day Earth Shall Ring", selected movements of Sergei Rachmaninoff's "Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom", Ralph Vaughan Williams's "Fantasia on Christmas Carols", and a multi-media presentation of Luke Fatora's film "Lime City" celebrating the city of Rockland and reflecting on its maritime history. December 7th - Watts Hall Community Arts is proud to be one of the sponsors of Thomaston's 3rd annual Downtown Christmas Festival. A number of the festival's events will take place at Watts Hall including a Holiday Market, live music, cookie decorating, a hot cocoa bar, and a special storytime in partnership with the Thomaston Public Library. December 13th @ 5:30 pm - Experience the joy of Elephant & Piggie’s “We Are in a Play!” as Gerald and Piggie take the stage in this delightful musical based on Mo Willems' beloved books. Presented by The Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine, this touring production is packed with music, laughs, and heartwarming lessons about friendship. December 14th @ 5:00 pm - Come view stunning evergreen gowns created by midcoast Mainers at Watts Hall Community Players' 3rd annual Merry Mannequins Evergreen Extravaganza. The opening night reception, which raises funds for AIO's Energy Assistance Program, includes light bites, a drink, and live music.More info and tickets can be found at: https://wattshallcommunityplayers.org/events/.

December 15th - Stop by Watts Hall between 12:00 - 3:00 pm to view the stunning evergreen gowns and vote on your favorite at Watts Hall Community Players' Merry Mannequins Evergreen Extravaganza. Admission is by donation and will support AIO's Energy Assistance Program. December 22nd @ 3:00 pm - You’re invited to join community members of all ages as Watts Hall Community Players read Dylan Thomas’s holiday classic "A Child's Christmas in Wales". This annual event isn’t long but is a lovely way to gather. Hot chocolate and carols will be sung following the reading. December 31st @ 11:00 am - Get a head start in celebrating the New Year! Dance and sing along with Fun Run as we count down to NOON Year's Eve at Watts Hall.
